Favorite Baby Item of the Day

Posted by Unknown

This last weekend I went to this co-op boutique show here in my neighborhood.  A place where many small businesses (or large) show off and highlight there stuff.  There are so many talented people out there and I loved it all.  One of my favorite was a graphic designer who made prints, calendars, cards and even designs blog headers.  This baby announcement was one of my favorites and she had it as a large poster for decor.  Granted Zoom has grown out of the baby stage I'm sad to say but I could still have one made for his wall.  Check out  her other stuff at Green Lily Designs.  I'm lucky I grabbed her card!

Amy Butler Towels

Posted by Unknown

I saw these are my heart jumped.  How can I be so excited about a bath towel!  Amy Butler has designed these new towels for welspun and you can get them at BedBathandBeyond.com.  Now maybe getting out of the warm shower can't be so bad.  At least I'll have a smile.  I think it will be $14 well spent.  Well, maybe $28 in case one gets dirty :)

I love this birthday card.  I saw it on tangled and true and they saw it on inchmark.  My nephews will all be receiving this card.

Motivation for Dori

Posted by Unknown

I finally made it to the photographer and I have a whole new batch of pictures of Zoom.  He is so 100% lovable in pictures!  You would never think this cute boy could drive his mother crazy.  I'm not even sure how he stood still for so long.  Maybe it was the patience of the photog and a whole lot of chocolate chips to motivate him.  Thanks dace...I'm so glad I have you in my back pocket :)  This guy is my motivation for everything.

I couldn't resist

Posted by Unknown

I have a skirt that I just love.  It's a denim skirt with a slit up up the middle front.  When I was a tad bit younger and I'm sure a tad bit smaller I loved to wear it but with time my preference is to not show as much leg.  (Could it be those ugly spider veins?).  I have never given the skirt away and still hold onto in hopes of  finding the perfect under garment/slip to wear with it.  I imaged ruffles of course.  I always wanted to make one or find a vintage clothing shop.   I recently stumbled across a website the offers a great solution.  I think they stole my idea!   They're like fancy pants from when I was a little girl.  100% Functional and these slips are totally meant to be seen.  I ordered this one and am sooooo happy.  My hunt is over and my skirt is on again.

Check them out at Vintage Hem online.

Pumpkin Time

Posted by Unknown

I love pumpkins!  They make me happy, literally.  Saturday I put my pumpkins on the porch.  I don't have as many as I usually do so I threw some funkins in with them.  On sunday I looked out my upstairs window and noticed that somebody had placed pumpkins at the park across the way and smiled that somebody would do something so nice.  While in the shower (great ideas come here) the thought crossed my mind that nobody would buy pumpkins and put them at the park.....in must have been the crazy wind.  Later I opened my front door to see all my funkins had blown away.  I love being the nice person who decorates the neighborhood!  I then went for a walk in the rain.

I saw these no carve pumpkins on Better Homes and Gardens.  They all make me so very happy.

Sandwich Art

Posted by Unknown

So zoom is in this stage where he doesn't want to eat.  He'll take one bit of his sandwich and be done and then crankiness will get the best of him in a few hours.  He doesn't even eat his favorite standbys that I can count on.  I recently came across this post from the hostess (with the mostess) and thought this idea might work.

Could this make Zoom eat again?  It's a lot of work but very fun.  If not I'd have to be hungry enough myself to eat a lion.....or I guess any of the below.

Make this book at home

Posted by Unknown

I have seen this on a few different blogs recently and thought it was a great idea. Originally from say yes to hoboken, I'm loving this personalized book for browsing and reading.  I've slowly been making a quiet book with family pictures and things Zoom would like but didn't think about an actually learning and ABC book.  A picture of red shoes, yellow bananas, and endless possibilities.   What a great idea!!! Pictures of my finished project to come in the future.....my famous last words I know.

Favorite Item

Posted by Unknown

Growing up my mother always had natural peanut butter. We hated it as kids and longed to have our mother actually approve JIF, or SKIPPY, or Peter Pan or even better yet GOOBERS (the kind with the jelly in the jar) peanut butter. However much to our disappoint she firmly stated that the other stuff would kill us if we ate it. So we received the Natural Chunky peanut butter that had an inch of oil on the top. It would either be too runny and ooze all over our hands or hard as a rock at the bottom of the jar.

Of course we never had the patience to stir it up like our mom. They hadn't even invented the no stir natural peanut butter yet (which in my mind isn't the true butter from the nut if you get my point) and our trials in life were too hard for us to handle.

But time passed and I grew up. I now, because of my mothers indoctrination I'm sure, I only eat natural peanut butter. MMMMMMM.....so good it actually is and I realize that those other peanut butters are so overrated with their hydrogenated oils and more. These still is the problem with the oil however with this awesome invention it solves my problems.

It's one of my new favorite items. How ingenious and simple. But as my mom would say.....a true life saver. Buy it from lehman's online store or amazon.
